During the winter break, I wanted to make sure I kept my children occupied. I didn't really think I'd end up at the aquarium in Stuart, but early in the morning I received an email with a Living Social deal that I decided to take advantage of. To be honest, I completely forgot about the option of visiting the aquarium. I've lived on the Treasure Coast for nearly 5 years, but never stopped by so it was not on my radar. I decided it would be a great place to spend some time on New Years Eve since I knew I wasn't in the mood to participate in any festivities late at night, this way the kids wouldn't be indoors all day.
The hands on experience at the Florida Oceanographic Society makes it fun and fulfilling. My children loved being able to pet and feed stingrays, the touch tank and looking at the large sharks and huge turtles in the water. There's more to do there, but I was tired. It took a while to get them away from the tank with stingrays, so as soon as I was able to get their attention, we left.
Note: Visitors and residents of the Treasure Coast, this is a great option! Check out the photos below!
